Rainews24 has found out that inn the US Sigonella Base a new integrated radar system of the American Marines will be installed the MUOS (Mobile User Objective System).

The US Marines have ordered the American company Maxim, to carry out a study to verify the risk that radar microwaves can cause on the facilities of the military base. Maxim's simulations have reached the conclusion that the radar equipment, must be installed somewhere else because of the risk that radar's microwaves mat trigger the explosion of the shells in the military base.

At the moment the radar instalment project has not been moved to a place different from US Sigonella base.

Rainews24 journalists only obtained the final conclusion of maxim study which underlines the necessity to move the radars to another place, the company has not revealed simulation details, the relevant danger levels or information about the presence of nuclear weapons in the American base. But the suspect that this possibility can actually happen, forces Americans to be extremely transparent about the future of Sigonella base.

The alarm has been confirmed by Filippo Gemma, responsible of GMSpazio: "One of the recommendations was not to install this kind transmitter closet to aircrafts equipped with arms, whose detonators can be affected by electromagnetic emissions of the transmitter itself ".

What will be the role of Sigonella base in the future international scenario? How will it combine with international agreements that regulate the participation of Italy into conflicts?

What will be the consequences of the instalment of new systems on the population's health and security|?

The new report of Rainews24 " Sigonella US base" will try to give answers to these questions.
