America has decided to install 10 interceptor
missiles in Polad and a radar in the Czech Republic as the first
elements of a space shield to defend itself from attacks by the so
called "Rogue States". The agreement has been made directly
with the Czech Republic and with Poland without involving neither
the European Union, nor NATO.
Protests by Czech and Polish people do not seem to stop the project
and neither do strong Russian protests.
"Americans say: we do not see any danger coming from Russia" -
Russian Federation Duma's vice president Lyubov K Sliska says "but
then who knows why the Berlin wall has been moved to the border with
Russia and we became one of those countries that can be defined "the
axis of evil" like Iran and North Korea.
Also a non-aligned Duma MP like Dimitri Ragozin strongly protests: "NATO
says that missiles can be launched from Russian southern borders.
So why do these radars are installed in Poland and in the Czech Republic
and they are not insttalled in Caucasus and southern Russia?"
And if the objectives of these missiles were not Iranian missiles
but Russian ones, could 10 missiles in Poland confront the 4.000
Russian atomic warheads? Former Russian generals who have been interviewed
give another explanation: "these Polish missiles - former Major
General Vladimir Dvorkin says - are programmed to hit space devices
launched from Kazakhstan or from other cosmodromes. It doesn't matter
from where the missiles are launched because they can be hit on low
and medium orbits."
According to Russian military, missiles in Poland could be used
to destroy Russian or Chineselaunched into the space ith strategic
objectives.
The American president Bush on August 31 2006, signed the document
of American Space policy which does not allow other countries, except
the USA, to use space strategically.
Immediately after, on March 27 2007 Russian President Putin and
Chinese President Hu Jintao signed a cooperation agreement for the
development of space strategic technologies. The space race has just
started.
